New addition: Old Red Barn is giving away a quilt. Enter...but don't win...that quilt is mine! Old Red Barn
In an effort to keep my mind occupied and avoiding house work, my mind has been working overtime on different projects. Pillsbury cookoff, new recipes, and new sewing projects. My favorite type of projects are for people I love and ones that I can start and finish in a day. And my friend Kate can attest, I'm an avid pattern changer. I'm always taking quilt or bag patterns and reswizzling them for my own amusement (remember the teddy bear pattern that became a kitty!)
Since the oldest Munchkin just got her first pair of glasses, naturally, crafty Mom had to whip her up a quilted eyeglass case. I made up the pattern and construction as I went. I added a flap so her glasses wouldn't slip out in her backpack. And then I recently read a blog about making custom buttons with Shrinky Dinks (OMG, who knew!), so this seemed like the perfect time to experiment with that. And to finish it off, BEJEWELS! Around here sparkles make anything better. The best reward is the reaction I got from the Munchkin,"Oh Mommy I just love it so much!"

Too cute! Glad you are keeping busy and happy to hear every bit of progress your dad is making.
I saw this today hot off the press and I have to say it was super crazy cute. The picture doesn't even do it justice. The shrinky dink button is just so charming in person.
This is a great idea and turned out so cute. I might make one for myself. Might help me not lose my glasses in the bottom of my purse! Glad you're getting a bit of good news about your dad.
Did Kate tell you we spent large quantities of time while at the beach doing shrinky dinks? I love having this idea! Good job Ms. M!

Too cute! I remember Shrinky Dinks from when I was a kid. Who knew!
May I exchange a coffee cozy pattern for an eyeglass pattern?
Thanks for visiting my blog! I remember my first pair of glasses - I got them in first grade. What a cool thing to make (the case) for a munchkin! I love that cat fabric...
Super cute, as always; I want one of those :)
What a great mom! I hope that your family can have peace in the storms of life. Sometimes you just want to crawl under the covers and come out when everything's over.
Thanks for entering my giveaway. Please pass on the word as I'm going to have a different giveaway every week - something for everyone. Check back on Friday to see who the winner is.
